SJUSD CTE Logo Career Technical Education (CTE) provides students of all ages with the academic and technical skills, knowledge, and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become lifelong learners. CTE prepares these learners for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies and makes academic content accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context.

Today's graduates must be prepared for the ever-increasing demands of college and the workplace. This year, we will continue to bolster our Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathways to ensure our CTE programs are high-quality to prepare students for the world of work and post-secondary education. I am very excited about our new Agriculture facilities at Serrano High School. Last year, we started to refurbished our greenhouse, build an agriculture farm for fair animals, and expanded our Agriculture Mechanics Shop. We will continue to complete these projects throughout the school year.

Our goal, in CTE, is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to move on to whatever career path they choose. Our Career Pathways include:

  • A sequence of courses between high school and college;
  • Articulated college courses;
  • Workplace training externship & Job Shadow programs;
  • Industry certification opportunities;
  • Updated CTE course outlines that meet the University of California A-G eligibility requirements; and
  • Update our CTE facilities.

Our hope is to prepare students for their unique opportunities that await them after high school for both college and career.

Our VISION:

The Snowline School District's Career Technical Education Department will provide high-quality CTE programs and pathways that prepare all students to be "College and Career Ready".  We will partner with all community stakeholders including businesses, parents, students, higher education institutions, MDCP, and other agencies to create a positive impact on every student's education.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Connor., CTE Coordinator
