Facilities Master Plan

Snowline Joint Unified School District--Facilities Master Plan

Dear Snowline Community Member,

We are proud of the high quality education that our District provides to students in our community.  Snowline has consistently outperformed most districts in San Bernardino County based on standardized testing measures.  Beyond academic achievement, Snowline's music and performing arts programs are top-notch, extracurricular activities support students and the community, and our athletic programs at all levels excel.  Our students and their accomplishments are a source of pride within our communities and provide great hope for the future.

The focus of Snowline's ongoing efforts are to "ensure endless possibilities for all students through high levels of learning."  With that focus in mind, we have been working diligently to align all of the planning efforts at Snowline's schools to provide students with optimal learning opportunities to guarantee that all students who graduate from Snowline's schools are college and career ready.  Snowline's Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) can be found on the "Superintendent" link of this website and provides an overview of the goals that have been established to provide students with endless posssibilites.  Additionally, Snowline was recently included as one of the recipient districts of a $15 million College and Career Pathway Trust Grant award that will enhance career pathways in the district's secondary programs by connecting students to high-skill, high-wage, high-growth jobs in the health care, manufacturing, transportation, and energy industry sectors.  Our goal over the next several years is to expand to other industry sectors that will increase the opportunities for the students of our school district to excel in the future.

Part of the comprehensive planning in which we have been engaged has been to assess the district's facilities to determine the need in that area in supporting the academic program.  We have undergone an extensive review of Snowline's  facilities relative to the preparation that is necessary to ensure that our students are college and career ready.  In the links below, you can access Snowline's Facilities Master Plan, and list of Frequently Asked Questions relative to facilities needs.  Please feel free to email me with any questions or comments that you might have as we continue our planning efforts at luke_ontiveros@snowlineschools.com.

Sincerely,

Luke Ontiveros, Superintendent

Snowline Joint Unified School District

Facilities Study Session Overview

Over the course of the 2013-2014 school year, Snowline has been focused on aligning its planning efforts to "ensure endless possibilities for all students through high levels of learning."  Through its Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), Snowline is endeavoring to articulate an academic program across all grade levels to assure that all students are career and college ready upon graduation from high school.  Concurrent with its LCAP development, Snowline has been involved in a Facilities Master Plan (FMP) process that has centered on evaluating the district's learning environment relative to career and college readiness for its students.

On July 22, 2014, the Snowline Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees convened a study session in regard to the district's facilities and the needs identified in the FMP.  The study session centered on three areas:  1) current district enrollment and readiness for growth, 2) review of Snowline's facilities efforts over time, and 3) consideration of financing options for future facilities needs.  The link below provides an overview of the study session content.  Please forward any questions or comments on Snowline's facilities plan to Superintendent Luke Ontiveros at luke_ontiveros@snowlineschools.com.
