“All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us should have an equal opportunity to develop our talents.” John F. Kennedy

Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) in Snowline is a program of qualitatively differentiated instruction, consisting of a variety of curricular options, which respond to and nurture the needs, interests, and abilities of identified students.

Differentiation Defined
Differentiated instruction is a positive way to effectively meet the needs of a diverse group of learners. Teachers are adept in presenting lessons to the students in such a way that provides an appropriate challenge for the many different ability levels in their classrooms.

Screening for the GATE program takes place once a year during February and March. Parents are notified to request paperwork in January. ALL students (grades 2nd through 8th) are eligible to be screened and may be screened more than one year, if requested.
