    Our Purpose: We are committed to our core values, we, the Special Services staff, support the Snowline learning community with a variety of supports and services to school sites, students and families' that meet the unique educational needs of our students and encourage maximum individual success.


The district office of special services operates throughout the district, at school sites, via Itinerant credentialed staff; psychologists, speech therapists, nurses, and our occupational therapist. These professionals provides direct services to students in a variety of ways, consult with Principals and site staff, attend IEP meetings, and serve as district resources in all matters related to special education.

The Special Services clerical and administrative staff would aid in support of the efforts of the itinerant staff. In accordance with State and Federal laws, the clerical staff works to schedule near1y a thousand meeting each year, in addition to assessments for eligibility, requests for records and infonnation, support of data collection and review for quality assurance and compliance with legal mandates as well as the coordination and implementation of special services throughout the district.

The staff is also present to help address all concerns brought by parents regarding the education and related services to our students, in any way that supports their success.




What We Do
Marty Zgodinski, PHD

Coordinates and facilitate the implementation of the district special education services in accordance with the provisions of the Local Plan and the SELPA Board of Directors. Coordinate and facilitate the day-to-day participation of district special education personnel and utilize district resources to improve special education services in accordance with the Local Plan and the SELPA Board of Directors. Act as liason for parents, district, and community, to SELPA Administrator for legal, procedural, and compliance issues in accordance with State and Federal laws.

1. Responsible for supporting the ‘credentialed’ and ‘certificated’ staff’s needs including but not limited to paperwork for referrals, assessments, meetings, ordering, conferences, absences, budget maintenance, meeting agendas and minutes, record’s requests, MIS management, and WEB IEP management and MAA and Medi-cal programs.

1. Responsible for serving the general population of students in Snowline with fragile health needs, special education needs, mandated hearing and vision screenings, health and education awareness, home visits, district TB testing, state mandated reports for immunizations and physicals, the management and training of 23 health technicians throughout the district and much, much more.

1. Responsible for supporting the District School Nurses including but not limited to managing their calendars, processing completed health assessments, tracking health tech's. absences, budget, statistics, databases, staffing, newsletters and forms.
