play my name is Robin house I'm a deputy district attorney for San Bernardino County and this is my cell mine story okay in 1978 my parents moved us up to the high desert I started at Serrano high school at that time it was 7th through 12th grade so I went to Serano High School from 8th grade until 12 bring when I graduated in 1984 the Wallace Ronald high school I had several favorite teachers I believe it or not I was super super shy so I enrolled in speech and drama because I wanted to be as prosecutor and I know that being a prosecutor would require me to do some public speaking what was an eighth graders very shy and there's no way I could get up and talk in front of a crowd so I took speech and drama and both classes were really really fun I also really like my English teacher mrs. Hill I think she recently retired but probably my favorite teacher and one thing that was really nice about Sorento high school as there were a lot of very supportive teachers they actually helped me apply for scholarships for school my family could not afford to send me to college so I show me that in order to go I really needed some scholarships so I got about six different scholarships and they were cash towards so I went to Victor Valley college right after high school and from there I went to Cal State San Bernardino to say when I was a senior in high school the reason I didn't play softball with because I started attending Cal State San Bernardino I was able to take college classes for half the price I was able to do that because I had a lot of high school credits so after I graduated from Cal State San Bernardino with my degree in criminal justice I then I got married and had kids and eventually I went back to law school I've been an attorney for the District Attorney's office for 18 years boys credit my experience at throw my total for getting me as far as I've done today the best advice I can give it to current students is to just be there everyday take advantage of your education take advantage of what the teachers are telling you because this is your only free opportunity at an education I don't waste it you can do whatever you want if you put forth the effort and the work I work really hard to get where I am but it has paid off and I absolutely love my job
